Welcome to our game web pages.

... GMs Jim and Randi (Valerie).

This is our home page (last updated 08-31-2011), which we relocated here from our old pages at att.net because AT&T decided to discontinue web page support services.  This one is free, with optional pay-for services available as well, should we ever choose to go that route, though I don't know why we would do so.

On this site you will find information relating to our Champions (Hero System) Role Playing game, which we call Solo Chicago.  We used to run our game live online in an AIM chat room, but we later opted to move the game to Dan Simon's HeroCentral.net site and a Play By Post game there.  That happened in May 2010 and we have been playing there in a Play-by-Post game (which you can also post to by email).  It has been going pretty well.

We are running our game using the Hero Games' Hero System rules, version 5, revised, which is available from HeroGames.com.  We do not plan to move to version 6 at this time or in the near future (originally written Feb. 27, 2010, and still true).

In the attached pages you will find:
  • Campaign rules: Base rules, House rules, Players list.
  • Campaign Background information: World History, what's different, etc.
  • A "Who's Who" list of Player and Non-Player Characters in our game.
  • Maps used in our game.
  • Adventures of Neko, from the beginning! (first adventure in October 2009).
  • And maybe, in future: Off-Topic discussions on various related topics.

If you have any questions, please contact Jim or Randi.  Thanks!

A few notes on our game and how we run it...

At least one Player has asked me to tell Players that I tend to run at least some of my NPCs and the Game World in general as Christian Evangelical, meaning you may run into serious people who believe in God, Jesus and an infallible Holy Bible.  While I would prefer to avoid discussions or situations of political or religious nature, sometimes they come up, particularly if you, the Player, want to play a Healer-type with a direct hot-line to God Almighty as the source of your Powers.  In retrospect, I recommend against this.  It caused some problems and hard feelings between Player and GM -- a situation which I would rather not deal with again.  If you have more questions about this, please ask.
